Costa Sur

Costa Sur.  Stopped in Malaga to visit the Picasso Museum. Drove east along the coast. Visited the Alcazaba in Almeria.

Spent wonderful, lazy days in San Jose in Cabo de Gata National Park enjoying the Mediterranean and sunshine.

Spent the night in Motril and saw wind-swept lenticular clouds emblazoned with the sunset. The Sierra Nevada mountains still had snow on them. Had our first walk along the Mediterranean.

Cabo de Gata Natural Park

Cabo de Gata Natural Park is Andalusia’s largest coastal protected area, a wild and isolated landscape with some of Europe’s most original geological features. It is the only region in Europe with a true desert climate. Sometimes the dust storms in the Sahara would blow into the Mediterranean and cause different sunsets.
