Over time, water has smoothed the rock of this cliff. The view is toward Colorado Springs, not too far from the Helen Hunt waterfall.  

I found this rock and placed it on the sidewalk in the bright, Colorado sun. I like the effect of the pitted, black textured rock against the sandy concrete.  

Sunset on the plain near Fountain, Colorado. The setting sun illuminates the thunderclouds that have all but blown away to Kansas.  

A canyon near Cave of the Winds. An ancient river carved through this rock.  

Thunderclouds are gathering over this mountain peak. The view is from Cave of the Winds near Manitou Springs. Pikes Peak is just to the east.
