Seville is the capital of Andalusia. Andalusia is a region of hills, rivers and farmland bordering Spain’s southern coast. Seville was under Moorish rule from the 8th-15th centuries, a legacy that shows in its architecture, including such landmarks as the Alcázar castle in Seville, the capital city, as well as 150-plazaCórdoba’s Mezquita Mosque-Cathedral and Granada’s Alhambra palace. After the discovery of the New World by Columbus, Seville was the center for all trade from the Americas. This introduced the Golden Age.
