John, suggest you fly (or take a bus) to Tegucigalpa, the capitol. From there, it is relatively easy to get to Lago de Yojoa. Take the bus (or rental car) to San Pedro Sula and get off early. I didn't use a tour guide; just did it. I'd suggest going to the hotel and staying a few days. I bet they can take care of you. If you don't like it, they can tell you what else is available. I didn't fish, but everyday I saw fishermen taking large bass from the lake. There are boats available at Hotel Agua Azul. I think a float tube and a 7 weight would be the way to go.

Your pictures are excellent!!

I read several of your pages and Hotel Agua Azul is/was on my radar but, I have not considered traveling in Honduras with a tour guide; Lenca Land Trails, for example, email doesn't work.

I have, thus far, been unable to make connections with a Honduran, travel guide for a trip to Lago de Yajoa which I would like to make in January, 2009.

May I impose on you for information/suggestions, or travel guides, about fishing, traveling, and sightseeing on the North end of the lake?

Thank you, very much!
